Started practising on June 1966 after seeing an advert in a local paper. Travelled from Maybole to Glasgow three times a week by public transport (2 hours each way). Club was the Osaka, which was associated to Karate Do Shotokai. 

By March 1968 I was getting weary of the time travelling back and forth so started Kyle club (was 3^rd kyu at the time).

I Kept travelling to Glasgow but only twice a week and coached at Kyle another two nights. Gradually Kyle took over and travel to Osaka and other clubs was usually restricted to once a week and courses.

We left KDS 1987 and practised with Shotokai Foundation until 1997 when we decided to become independent.
